Find The Best
Flat Screen TV Wall Mount
Flat screen TV mounts - it's not something you'll have on
your mind when you are thinking about buying a flat screen TV.
But flat screen TV wall mount is a very important item when it
comes to getting the most out of your plasma or LCD TV.
There are several things you should know when choosing a
wall mount for your flat screen TV. First, the type of a wall
mount - there are 3 types with different pros and cons:
1. Flat Mount this is the simplest and the
cheapest of the 3 mounts, it's also the easiest one to install
- installing your LCD TV using this wall mount is as simple as
hanging a large picture. Unfortunately it also gives the least
options - you cannot adjust TV's angle in neither horizontal
nor vertical axis. Which may result in sub-optimal viewing
experience depending on where in the room you are and your
angle of viewing.
2. Swivel Mount it's similar to the above,
but it allows you to rotate the TV slightly to the left or
right so that you can enjoy the best quality whether you are in
front of a TV or to a side. Swivel Mount though doesn't allow
for vertical adjustment, so depending on your position you may
be out of luck here.
3. Tilt Mount the best of the 3 types, but
also most expansive and hardest to install. It has a sort of
"arm" that the TV is secured to, that allows for both
horizontal change as well as vertical change for the direction
your TV is facing. So no matter where you are in the room or
what your viewing angle is, you can always enjoy the best
quality with a quick and simple adjustment in TV's angle.
The types of flat screen TV mounts are very important, but
there are also a few other things you should consider when
choosing which mount to buy:
1) Supported Weight - different wall mounts
support different weight, from ones that only support 33 pounds
to those that support 200+ pounds LCD TVs. Make sure you know
how much weight is supported by a wall mount before you buy
it.
2) Type of Wall the flat screen will be
installed on - if it's a sheetrock you may need to reinforce
the wall, especially if it's for a heavy TV. If it's a concrete
wall you should make sure that the nails are properly secured
in the wall.
3) Cable Management - many of the LCD TV
wall mounts have cable management built in. Still you should
think about how you plan to manage (and hide) the cables so
that you have a clean looking home theatre.
Decide on which flat screen TV wall mount is the best for
your situation and once you are ready to buy you can head over
to a local store or look online. I personally prefer buying
online as you not only get great selection but can also find
the best price, not to mention you save time and gas from
needing to drive there.
